Today, especially larger companies are faced with the challenge of managing more and more channels, content and target groups simultaneously in marketing – efficiently, consistently and with data support. Many marketing teams quickly reach their limits: Excel spreadsheets, isolated tools or manual processes tie up too many resources and are not very efficient. It is precisely at this point that many companies are interested in a Marketing Management System. But how should you get started? Start small, then scale up
Many of our customers start with a Shop system, others with the “Printed materials” and “Online advertising materials” modules. Some large companies initially use our WKZ module to process advertising cost subsidies or the Media Asset Management module to manage their numerous products. This is because MAM can categorise and provides descriptions in the form of photos, videos and texts. With all these modules, our customers often replace several legacy systems. In addition, such basic modules are a good basis for familiarising users with the Marketing Management System.
The modular principle
The modular principle of the socoto platform enables flexibility both when getting started with the system and for all extensions. In total, the socoto MMS has almost 20 modules, which can be divided into three groups:
- The communication modules enable campaigns to be rolled out on various channels: for example, as online or print adverts, out-of-home advertising – i.e. on billboards or digital screens – as radio spots, on point-of-sale TV, as brochures or in social media.
- We have developed our so-called MBW modules so that our customers can manage and control their marketing budgets and advertising allowances with just a few clicks.
- The third group summarises various modules under the term “My data” . Addresses, contact persons, opening hours and retailer logos can be stored here, as well as forms and order overviews.
As the marketing world is changing rapidly, we regularly develop new modules and continuously expand proven elements. In order to keep our customers up to date with the latest developments, we are in close dialogue with them. Once a year, we also organise our customer events – the Content Marketing Day and the Marketing Management Day. At these events, we engage in intensive dialogue about new developments and possible applications.
From the entry-level solution to the customised complete system
Every collaboration begins with a customised starter package that is precisely tailored to the customer’s requirements. The aim is to gradually expand the customer’s MMS into a system that efficiently maps all marketing processes and can react flexibly to new challenges.
A complete solution does not necessarily mean using as many socoto modules as possible. The system often grows organically – for example, when new business areas or brands are added or an international expansion requires several language versions. It is precisely in such scenarios that the modular socoto system shows its full strength – one reason why many of our customers have been relying on us for years.
Which modules you really need – and when
Of course, it is not always easy for companies interested in a marketing management system to keep track of all the components and functions. That’s why we always provide an extremely important component: our advice and support. We always start our projects with intensive workshops in which we discuss company processes and carry out a very precise needs analysis.

Change in sight? No problem!
Are you about to make changes in your company? Are you expanding your branch network, want to try out new marketing channels or change your CI? You can also discuss this with your Customer Success Manager at socoto! We plan this phase together with you and can then integrate the new modules or connections during ongoing operations. For a CI change, we prepare the portal layout as well as the advertising material and switch everything live on the specified date.
