QR codes: Classic advertising reloaded

QR codes open up entirely new vistas for advertisers when it comes to specialized cross-media marketing – even at the regional level. They form a perfect dovetail of the classic, i.e. the print­ed advertising world with the virtual one.

Seamless, frictionless, on-target, and swift in its effect, the code takes the viewer straight from the advert, billboard, or building-site banner to the corresponding detailed internet offer, which in the optimal case already houses a response element. This is after all a major aspect of the use of QR codes: response, as implied by its in­volvement in the name, with QR standing for Quick Response.

socoto now offers its custo­mers the option of integrating QR codes into all printed advertising materials. A special generator swiftly converts the individual deep links embedded in the prototype into a QR code – and hey presto! the bridge into the internet is built. In this way every regional socoto user can create a link to his/her own range of offers.
